Laura Bush blames the media's Iraq coverage for her husband's low poll ratings
by Joe in DC - 12/14/2006 10:49:00 AM

When O'Donnell asked Laura about the latest NBC/WSJ poll that showed only 2 in 10 Americans approve of Bush's handling of Iraq (it's actually 19%), Laura blamed the bad media coverage.

Her quote (no transcript on line yet just the video http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8004316/) was:

"I understand why those polls are like that because of the coverage we see every single day on Iraq and it is not encouraging coverage for sure."

.......................

Here's an idea, Laura. You and the girls head over to Iraq for a couple weeks to show us all the good things that are happening over there. Blaming the media is so 2005. Your husband is losing this war and the American people know it. He's brought about the deaths of thousands, Laura.
Deal with it.

Sorry, Laura. The facts have a liberal bias.

29. Man, They Hate The Truth, Don't They?
Apparently, death and destruction that are actually occurring are not news.

One more note: An AP report from sometime in November made a big deal over the fact that a new school had been opened. The important element was that this was the ONLY new school opened since the invasion. While we regularly hear about schools being opened in Iraq, the rest of those were just new buildings because the old buildings were destroyed in the bombing. So, in all this time we have opened ONE NEW SCHOOL! One school in a country of 35 million in 4 years. And that's supposed to be front page news?

6. Well, she's right.
The only reason people don't like her husband is because of that silly "reality" thing, which they heard about in the newspapers.

The people who live in Bush Fantasy Land just couldn't be more supportive.

Gee, it only took a category 5 hurricane to start showing the emperor AND his mediawhores were nekkid as jaybirds - no clothes, no credibility.

10. Laura Bush, you are a stupid woman. A total idiot. The proof is the fact
that first of all you married the blithering idiot that you married. And you've stuck with him all these years. Through the drug abuse, alcoholism, the womanizing, the raunchy deals that devastated others, the lies, everything. You stood next to him and by doing so you supported his decisions and actions. STUPID.

Now, you are blaming the media for covering the war in Iraq. Forget the fact that for the last six years the media has largely given your husband every break possible, including reporting facts incorrectly, spreading propaganda, and ignoring things that could be embarrassing to his administration. YOU ARE AN IDIOT.

And if anyone was still in doubt about your intelligence, one only has to recall that the war in Iraq was OPTIONAL. It was not a mandatory war. We were not attacked by Iraq. Saddam was not a threat to us. He had no WMDs. He did not have Iraqi citizens fly planes into our buildings. And your husband and his cronies lied to America to make this war happen.

You, Laura Bush, have obviously taken the same stance that your husband has taken: that Bushes don't make mistakes, and if they do they don't own up to them, accept responsibility for them, nor do they admit to their mistake. They ignore it, pass the buck, or deny the facts.

You, Laura Bush are a STUPID, UGLY WOMAN. You have a monster for a husband, two trashy, trampy, no-talent daughters, you are a murderer, and are part of one of the most evil families to ever walk the face of Earth.

You should be very proud of yourself. :eyes:

15. She has a point.
If we didn't know about Iraq, we wouldn't have to worry about it so much.

More excellent analysis from the brilliant First Lady Bush! Of course, there are millions of Americans who really believe it is a liberal media so that's who Laura is talking to. They can only appeal to the zombies at this point.

Maybe our media should be more like the one they had in Germany that told of the great victories on the Eastern Front.

17. If the Iranians can deny the Holocaust ...
Maybe GWB can deny that there is or ever was a war in Iraq. Everything we have seen is a product of left-wing liberal media. Pax Republicana.

That'll fly, won't it?

if the media was doing their job and accurately reporting on what your husband is really up to, his approval ratings would be down in the single digits.
