Toony Snow in a nutshell
Edited on Thu Dec-14-06 01:25 PM by SoCalDem
I made a typo on his name, but "Toony" actually fits him, so I'm leaving it.

Let's see:

He won't comment on something that's "been in the newspaper"..because we all know that newspapers are liberal and they lie

He religiously hits all the pet phrases and vocabulary words.... he was "stay the course", now he's "go/move/proper way forward"

He refuses to answer anyone who dares to ask an original question, and reminds them that they are not "on topic".

But he refuses to confirm or deny anything ON topic..

:wtf:

Why do the reporters even bother to attend this little charade?

He's the WORST ever.

We critiqued the sweating doughboy, but he was a prince compared to Toony.

1. I can't put Toony in the same league as Snotty
Toony is a hangnail compared to Snotty the cancer

3. Thanks For The Typo
I actually like this term better than if you had used his correct name.

He is a bit of a TOON.

And it's like a broken record, same Tune, different day.

4. SoCalDem. I'm not sure if what you say is the proper explanation...
...for this post. I believe that you are trying to make a point but the answer to your post will require more investigation than the time allowed for me to answer.
I'll survey my sources and check on the authenticity of the post.

NEXT!

6. Oh, come on.
He's press secretary. That's his job. He does it no differently than any other PR guy.

1. His job is not to comment on other people's reporting, it's to comment on policy.
2. His job as White House spokesman is to be a spokesman. Which is to hit key points and phrases.
3. His job is not to tell the truth. It is spin and damage control. What he says is considered the official viewpoint of the White House, and by commenting on "original questions" he risks saying things that are politically unwise.
4. His job is not to tell the truth. It is spin and damage control. If the White House is unwilling to confirm or deny reports, then his hands are tied. His job is to be a spokesman, and no spokesman would speculate.

Reports attend the charade because that's their job. They report on the news, and unfortunately, the Executive's take on events and policies is usually a critical part of it.

And he's not the worst ever. Remember Ari Fleischer?

Mr. "all Americans need to watch what they say, watch what they do."?

Mr. ""If Saddam Hussein indicates that he has weapons of mass destruction and that he is violating United Nations resolutions, then we will know that Saddam Hussein again deceived the world. If he declares he has none, then we will know that Saddam Hussein is once again misleading the world"?
