BTW. the State of our 51st State was just strong and peachy too. |

The only thing I wanted to hear about Iraq was that we were leaving it. Instead the first half hour was all about how we were improving Iraq--lie though it is.
WTF was up with that. Terra, terra, terra, freedom, freedom, terra, terra, democracy, terra, elections, terra, .....

1. I wish someone would call the "improvements" in Iraq what they really are |
|
which is, of course, rebuilding.
We aren't improving things. We are just rebuilding shit we destroyed.
Reich wing Bush sycophants love to talk about how great it is that we are bringing electricity and running water to the Iraqi people. Well, yes, we damn well ought to. We are the ones who cut it off!

2. I got tired of that too |

They should have renamed it The State of Iraq, because that's all Bush was talking about, at least at the start. I understand Iraq is a big deal, but he's supposed to serve American citizens, and he devotes all that talk-time to Iraq, and virtually nothing to New Orleans. That's shameful; even moreso when I hear how much we are spending in Iraq, both on the war and to build their country up, all the while people in New Orleans complain about how they aren't getting enough help. Helping our own people should take precedent over another country.
