4 South African mercenaries still missing in Iraq

Four South African men abducted in Iraq at the weekend are still missing, the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday.

They are all employed by Safenet Security Services, a company registered in the British Virgin Islands and contracted to the US Department of Defence.

"The discussions are still ongoing between the company and the abductors, with Foreign Affairs providing the necessary support for the process so that there can be an amicable resolution," said department spokesman Ronnie Mamoepa.

The four were snatched at a roadblock in northern Baghdad on Sunday.

1. A hundred thousand contractors (and untold numbers of subcontractors)
One has to wonder how long it will be before mercenaries are the majority in that theater, and if this 'stay the course' horseshit really means 'stay the course until we can hire a shitload of mercenaries and get the Saudis to foot the bill.'
