Thief tell it like it is
Automobiles: Parts and Accessories:free 20 inch rims just want them gone

"no more room they need to go. i dont have the time to sell them. the quicker they are gone the less i have to worry about them. Tires have 75% tread left. i stole them off a full-sized chevy.they need to go fast not from the bismarck area, got them out of fargo"

5. First thing I thought of too
I was waiting to see if Steve Buscemi was in on it with the dude from the VW GTI "pimp your auto" ads.

3. "stole" in this context doesn't necessarily mean "stolen"
people who legitimately salvage parts off of other vehicles will often use the word "stole"- i've done it, and i know others who use the word that way as well.

4. Usually though
they don't make a point of telling you that they have to go fast or more importantly that they aren't from your town (Bismarck) so you don't have to worry about the original owner (Fargo) seeing them.

6. That's actually a valid point. I've used it that way myself.
Also, I've used it to mean "got an incredible bargain".

IE:
"Dick, that rare antique cigarette case looks brand new"
"Yeah, I stole it for just twenty bucks!"
