Why was Lou Dobbs slamming that union guy? He doesn't hire workers... |
|
...his job is to protect the rights of the workers that the companies hire. Right? I came in at the end of the interview but Lou was blaming the union guy for driving down the slaughterhouse employees' wages by allowing illegal immigrants to have those jobs.
What am I'm missing here? Does the union hire slaughterhouse employees or does the company hire them? And, if it's the company that hires them, is it not the union's job to represent them, on the assumption that, if the company hired them, they must have the right to work in the U.S.?

anti-capitalist. Go figure. The worst part is Lou doesn't even know when he contradicts himself. I just give thanks that every now and then he raises issues that matter, in his own contradictory way. At least people hear the issues and can sort them out for themselves.
Lou is serious comic relief for anyone who takes concepts, paradigms or ideologies seriously. One day when I have absolutely nothing else to do I will grade his book and send him my comments. No one should be so confused re basic concepts or ideas. How the fugg can you be pro corporations at home, claim to be pro middle class and attack unions ad nauseum.
Happy holidays Lou - you're way too old to change. Edit -sp.

Thats what made it look so lopsided.
Dobbs has never been a friend of Labor. Many people are under the impression that his is.

4. As the union official pointed out, the union represents the men and women... |

...who work there. Period. I can't fathom how company hiring decisions are the union's responsibilty.

I compare them to pre-paid lawyers. Their job is to defend you...right, wrong, or otherwise.

9. Yes, he was incredibly rude and he didn't come off well, at all. |
|
The union guy, on the other hand, remained polite, throughout the interview.

16. Lou Dobbs is a Republican. Of course he's going to attack the union. |

I've never heard of a Republican economist or a Republican in the House or Senate come out in favor of unions in the first place.
