Can I make a humble request regarding the news watching. |
|
If you must watch TV news, cable or otherwise (and that is your prerogative to do so), and you feel we need to know what happened on it (again, perfectly justified), can we please have some details. Quotes, statements, etc.
I don't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers but: "OMG SO AND SO IS BEING A BUSHCO SHILL WHORE SHILLING WHORE FACE!!! I JUST SENT THIS E-MAIL TO HIM?HER: DEAR SO AND SO YOU ARE A STUPID BUSHCO SHILL WHORE SHILLING WHORE FACE!!!"
....tells us absolutely NOTHING.
I know I can choose to not click on these threads/posts but I still muster up some desire do in the hopes that they will inform me of something. Sometimes amidst all of these there are nuggets of information that I can get that make it worthwhile to read what is on here rather than just waiting until media matters or Crooks and Liars put them up. But it seems to have gotten to the point where 90% of the posts about news/cable/talk shows fit the above description.
I realize I'll get flamed for this, and that's fine. But I at least had to ask. I don't want to get to the point where I don't even bother reading most of the threads on here because at one point they did seem to be informative and I'm hoping they get back to being so. I'm not saying DON'T call them lying bushco shilling whore faces. Just that if you could, provide some details as to WHY exactly in this instance they are lying bushco shilling whore faces.
Thank you in advance.

Those posts are solipsistic and a breach of posting etiquette. You cannot assume everyone else is watching the same thing you are at the same moment.

7. Well, you actually CAN assume it, but you'd be wrong! |

I must admit, I agree with the sentiments of the original poster. It's maddening when you get two lines and no detail. A complete waste of bandwidth, and frustrating! Center of the Universe syndrome at play....!

6. I've bitched about this for ages |
|
I don't have cable and I'm sick to death of the useless, screaming, hysterical posts that tell absolutely nothing. Now, to compound things, I'm on a slow dialup, so posts that just give a link with no explanation are starting to chap my arse, too.
If you think something is important enough to post, TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Thanks.

10. I find the tone in here kinda shrill in general. |
|
Granted, we all get frustrated some times, but the caps and the OMG's get kinda silly after awhile. The constant namecalling really bothers me too. It's like Kindergarten in here for a lot of us.
I challenge people to call Bush "Bush" and Chris Matthews "Chris Matthews" for a day or two. The criticism sticks a lot better when one addresses it to a real name.

11. I did that once so I understand how it happens |
|
I just woke up and heard something on the radio, half-asleep I quickly posted a message like that, put on the coffee and got dressed, came back and realized what I'd done when I saw the replies.
