Mother Nature wreacking havoc on the Pacific NW.... again!
Several Major Roads Closed

The 520 Bridge, Tacoma Narrows Bridge, and Hood Canal Bridge are closed due to high winds. Also, Northbound I-405 is completely blocked at the West Valley Highway due to trees down across the road.

(news just since midnight Seattle time)

http://www.komotv.com/news/4921736.html

2:00 a.m.: North I-405 is closed at the West Valley Highway (Renton) due to downed trees across the freeway.

1:30 a.m.: SR 530 is closed in both directions in Darrington. Trees have fallen on power lines near the roadway.

1:00 a.m.: Sea-Tac reports gust of 69 mph. Sets record for highest gust ever recorded at airport, topping 64 mph gust from Inauguration Day Storm on Jan. 20, 1993

12:45 a.m.: DOT closes Tacoma Narrows Bridge for first time in its history due to high winds. Truck blown over on midspan.

12:10 a.m.: As of 8pm Thursday, all AMTRAK passenger train service between Seattle and Portland has been suspended for 48 hours, due to a mudslide at Titlow (just south of Tacoma) and numerous fallen trees along the route. Amtrak's Sounder route and routes north of Seattle will continue. Freight routes are also still running. Amtrak train service between Seattle and Portland will resume on Dec.16th at 8pm.

1. I've been up here for 6 months now...
And nothing has come close to the 4 hurricanes I went through in '04 and '05 down in FL. So as bad as they make it out to be trust me, it gets much worse.

2. God's punishment....
for Bill Gates creating "Windows".

All joking aside, the Pacific Northwest has really been under the gun weather-wise. There's nothing anyone can do about it either which makes people feel helpless and isolated. Mother nature will have her way with you no matter what you try to do. It's both awe inspiring and detested at the same time.

The world's weather patterns are all screwed up. It's the middle of December and here in western New York the temperature was a balmy 57 degrees at 5:00 AM. In my 56 years I can't recall a "winter" that's been so mild. There's still plenty of time for that to change though and I believe it will. Soon.

Mother nature WILL have her way with us. We're pissing her off and she doesn't like that. Hang in there everyone in the northwest, it'll change sooner or later. It always does.
