Respect for the 'office' of president works both ways.
Edited on Fri Dec-15-06 06:58 AM by Philosoraptor
Over the years I have heard so many republics whine that Democrats don't respect the office of president when they badmouth bush. This is such utter childish bullshit. I certainly used to respect the office of the president, but no more. They certainly have come a long way since the happy days of Bill Clinton.

If the president himself doesn't respect the office, as in bush, then why should I?

When a man or woman comes along to counteract bush's embarrassing failures in the office, I'm sure I will respect the office again.

2. Respect is something that is earned.
I was passing out some of those deception dollars to some friends, when one made the comment that she didn't like them because they were disrespectful. I told her the same thing...respect is something that is earned. It's not an automatic. I reminded her that this pretzelnut has done nothing to earn our respect. She thought for a moment, and had to agree.

5. As respectful as I can get is "pretzelnut".....
I'm fond of Little Lord Pissypants, also, but it takes too much time to say or type. There are many other names I call his assholiness, but I try to keep user friendly when I post. The names I call him and the rest of his despicable troop among friends and in my head would truly make any pirate proud.
I felt about the same way about a governor we had in Michigan before our current one. He was another fiscal rapist, and an abuser of the middle class, poor, and other unfortunates (those who weren't in his little corporate group). Our current governor has done an incredible job of turning things around, but things in Michigan are still grim for many.
This current squatter in our White House, along with the rest of his criminal troop are not due any respect. To be disrespectful is being kind.
