Homelessness & Safety - Bobbolink -
I just wanted to post a little reminder that anonymity is a valued commodity here for many of us, but not so terribly vital to others - which is all good! To each their own, I always say :)

BUT

The homeless become targets for weak-minded, cowardly bullies because they know that they are in a vulnerable position. It is amazing the information the freepie-types with way too much time on their hands (aka: weak-minded, cowardly bullies) can put together from what seems to us to be the most innocent post.

Bobbolink's safety is imperative, so I ask you all to be very mindful of what you say in *public*. I'm not throwing stones here, because I certainly do NOT live in a glass house on this issue - and I'll leave it at that...

In other news :)

TakesAVillage draws nearer! She is grateful for your kind thoughts for her safe journey!

Thanks y'all :yourock:

Feel free to PM me...

1. These Secret Society Threads Are Getting A Little Annoying.
Most people here have no idea what you're talking about, and if you insist on keeping everything to PM's why do you keep posting threads on it? I guess you're doing something nice for somebody or something, but it is a little rude in my opinion to keep posting threads that give no information on what the heck you're even talking about. I know, petty gripe, but none of this makes any sense.

Who is bobbolink? Isn't that a poster here? They're homeless?

2. Then ignore them if they annoy you so much.
I know what Tapat is talking about.
You, as always, want to be obtuse.

3. Then Ignore Me If I Annoy You So Much.
I'll speak my opinions where and when I please.

It would be nice if some of these threads actually gave reference as to what the fuck they were talking about. It's the OP's right to keep the masses in the dark; of course, but it is mine to find that practice annoying. Deal with it.

6. Frankly,
the "masses" don't give a rats a**.

Those who need to know, and care to know, know.

Lots to do...

7. I'm Sure Most Here Would Care To Know. Problem Is You Never Tell Them.

If this entire thing has to be done in PM's then why not keep it there? Of course you don't have to and of course I have no right to force otherwise, but I do have a right to voice my displeasure at seeing these enigmatic threads containing no details that force somebody to have to use PM's to get info. To me it is a bit rude and annoying which is why I've stated as such. You obviously disagree, which is fine. I just find 'Forced PM' threads to be disrespectful to the community as a whole.

8. Obviously you don't remember what everyone went though
while trying to publicly help Andy.
I don't blame them for being discreet.

9. Oh Give Me A Break. Of Course I Know And This Has Nothing To Do With Andy.
Being responsibly discreet is one thing. But from the threads I've seen there haven't even been any generic details as to what the fuck is going on. That's what is annoying to me.

Is someone homeless? Why? What needs to be done? What help is being requested? Is someone sick? With what? Is there some other hardship? What is it? How are they doing?

These are all questions that could be answered perfectly fine within a public forum without ANY risk to disclosing personal information that would identify the subject. It would just be less rude if some of those details could be presented without having to be forced to engage in PM's.

11. If you have to ask 'why', then you don't
need to know.

14. Like I Said: Secret Society 'You Aren't Privileged' Keep DU'ers In The Dark Threads Are Annoying And
rude. I find them disrespectful to the community as a whole. But yes, that's just my opinion and many others I'm sure disagree. But though many may not publicly speak it in this thread, I'd wager there are plenty of DU'ers who find 'lack of details you're not special' forced PM threads to be quite annoying and rude as well.

But peace be with you anyway and good luck with whatever it is you're doing, if it be something honorable.

13. Thanks. Much love and many prayers to TakesAVillage
There are many DUers hurting right now and it's hard to keep up with changing situations which is why I am glad that you are keeping us up to date.

Ignore the naysayers. I PM'd you and it didn't really take too much effort.

We love what you and TAV are doing for Bobbolink. It's just awesome!! :loveya: and :grouphug: to you both!!!

Peace and love,

Arnie
