Voters are feeling more positive about the Democratic Party than about the Republicans as the GOP prepares to hand over control of Congress in January, according to a new NPR poll. And with his approval rating remaining low, President Bush will find it tough to keep Republican lawmakers on his side, the numbers suggest.

Nice chart.....generic Dem for President!

As NPR notes, while some elections can act as a "steam valve," letting off the pressure and allowing voters feel that they've properly chastised the party in power, that is not true this time. The feeling that the Republicans need to go has only deepened -- a fact perhaps best illustrated by the amazing results of their "generic candidate" poll for 2008.

2. If we perform, and we deliver
then we're pretty much assured of 2008 and 2010, probably 2012, too.

After ten years of do-little Republican Congresses, and two years of a do-nothing-at-all Republican Congress, people will remember why they used to elect Democrats in the first place: we know how to get the real stuff done.

Let's see how Pelosi's 100 hours/100 days goes, and if Raisinbrain vetoes it all.

3. Recent events have forced Smirk on to camera
Every time he drools, slouches, says "uhhhh", and tries to answer a question, our chances in 2008 go up.
