10. I used to go to Vegas for Christmas every year |
|
it's great (except for the cold weather).
Low room rates, low table stakes, smaller crowds.
And all the lovely tables dressed up in green felt, and the merrily dancing little red cubes.
Now that's Christmas.

13. I was going to say that they COULD be where it is already dark |
|
but...Wisconsin is not going to work for that. But based on the fact that the holidays start upon sundown...are there certain latitudes that get LONGER Hebrew celebrations??? Just something to think about...and what about inside the arctic circle...?\

15. I'm thinking being an observant Jew in the arctic circle |
|
might not be such a bad thing for some of the festivals :-). Just crossed my mind upon your reminder of the start 'point' of the festival of lights. Thanks for giving me a fun lunch topic... :-)

20. Well, this being Judaism |
|
that has actually been considered. The two answers I found in a brief search:
1) Use the sundown time of the closest city to your south where sundown exists 2) calculate when the sun reaches its lowest dip (not sure how this would wokr in winter, though).
