Call it a “Miracle on N. Walnut St.” or the awakening of a conscience.

Whatever the reason, the owners of a Nativity scene in front of their Dover residence are just happy that Baby Jesus has been returned.

The baby, a 12-inch plastic figurine, and a non-working light and its cradle were discovered missing Sunday and are believed to have been stolen overnight Saturday.

The owner said that he was awake about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday when he heard a vehicle drive away. He went outside to look around and saw the Baby Jesus figurine had been returned to the front yard.

He’s not sure if the vehicle he heard was responsible for the figurine being returned, or if it was a neighbor driving away.
