5. Anyone remember the 90's channel
It was an early attempt to broadcast a liberal oriented newstream on cable TV. It was a very low budget deal but it had a lot of heart. Thing is the cable companies wanted to ditch it. The religious right and mainstream media corps wanted it dead to. So it was bumped from the cable lineup. But a popular petition forced the cable company to put it back on the air. Eventually Gingrich cut a deal with the cable companies stating that they had to provide a slate of balanced representation. The upshot was the 90s channel got axed and we got PAX tv and two other religious programming channels.
