LINDA SUMMERHAYES

THE Edinburgh soldier who became the 100th British serviceman killed in Iraq was today described as a shining example of everything the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards stood for.

The father-of-three, who was introduced to Prime Minister Tony Blair on a recent visit to Iraq, was killed in a roadside bomb blast yesterday morning in Um Qasr, the southern province of Basra.

The spokesman said: "I said the Prime Minister was feeling saddened by the death of yesterday's victim as all the other 100 soldiers who died in Iraq.
