Crooks and Liars » Matt Damon: Ship the Bush Twins off to Iraq

snip<< Robert De Niro and Matt Damon will be on Hardball next week, so they played a little teaser clip for us. Damon thinks that all of America should share the burden of war and maybe the Bush Twins could be serving our country better shopping in Baghdad.

Damon: I don't think that it's fair as I said before, that it seems like we have a fighting class in our country. That's comprised of people who have to go for either financial reasons or , I don;t think that that is fair. And if you're gonna send people to war, ahh, if, if we all get together and decide we need to go to war then that needs to be shared by everybody. You know and if the President has daughters who are of age then maybe they should go too…>>

1. And, yes, freepers, Matt Damon, as an anguished American, has a right to say this.
Good for him. MKJ

2. Screw the freepers.....
All stars with antiwar views should speak out loudly and proudly. It's their right to do what they want with their fame and freepers will never understand that. Their idea of freedom is mucho different than ours. Viva La Dixie Chicks! (What real country backbone is about.)

5. They should not have to go just because they are Dubya's daughters
Though they should have to go for supporting, or not speaking out against, the imperialistic occupation of Iraq.

The war is useless and unncessary and no one should go. If Babs Jr. and Jenna went, then Dubya and the freepers wouldn't have that vulnerability. They'd guilt us with B & J's service even more than they do for the regular troops. We'd owe the Bush family for "protecting our freedom" and "keeping us safe" even more, according to the way they already see it. And if one of them got killed, we'd be stuck in Iraq forever. That would make Dubya into a person who cannot be questioned at all.
