Is Molly Ivins in poor health?
I love this woman and eagerly look forward to her columns. However, I haven't been able to locate a new column since November 23rd. I know Molly is a breast cancer survivor, but my understanding is that she was cured. Does anyone have any news about her current health?

2. Yes she is.
I think she is having more chemo because last time she took breaks from her column each time she did that.

8. Yep.
Third round of breast cancer according to the newspapers. It would be surprising if it has NOT metastasized.

10. From the link
Ivins has all but forbidden gifts of food and other items. She was overwhelmed with well-intended advice and goodies after she wrote of her initial diagnosis of breast cancer in 1999. The outpouring kept her from telling readers of the recurrences in 2003 and two months ago, her assistant, Betsy Moon, said.

Lately, Ivins has urged friends and fans to give instead to The Texas Observer, a liberal biweekly of politics and literature run on a shoestring for 51 years. Ivins, co-editor with Kaye Northcott from 1970 to 1976, even let the magazine put her face on a $10 gourmet chocolate bar available online and at the magazine's ramshackle Austin office.

(met Molly twice!) and the Observer kept me sane!

14. Here is their Tax Deductible Donation page...

There doesn't seem to be a way to donate in Molly's name. Perhaps I'll send a check and a letter.

12. For the record, there is no such thing as being "cured" of breast cancer.
Even if you don't have any recurrences or stop having them, you're not technically considered "cured" until you die of something else.

Molly sounds as if she's having a hard time of it. Pray for her if you're the praying kind; otherwise, send the best thoughts her way. Sounds like she needs them.
