'Beat Poet' discovers how misinformed U.S. is on Iraq, Saddam

RAW STORY
Published: Sunday December 17, 2006

A citizen journalist/DJ who calls himself the "Beat Poet" conducted interviews with regular people across America to find out how knowledgable they are about the war in Iraq and Saddam Hussein.

"The findings are quite scary," the Beat Poet told RAW STORY.

Just like certain high-ranking Democratic and Republican officials, regular Americans were unable to answer simple questions "regarding the war on Iraq and the mess Saddam Hussein has found himself in," the Beat Poet discovered. A number of respondents mistakenly believed that Saddam Hussein is a Shiite Muslim, instead of Sunni.

"Admittingly, I really did not know much about him or his trial prior to these interviews," the Beat Poet writes, "and now, I am ill informed."
