If the right wingers had won the election ...
what would we be hearing now? I am noticing how all of these generals and rightwing pundits are now telling the truth about what has been going on in Iraq. We hear at DU have known these things for years now the media such as TIME, and a lot of the rightwingers have realized that we on the web have been getting and giving information that they would not report and tried to hide. Now the situation is out of
control because some have been afraid of Bush and Cheney, and would not listen to anyone else. Now they are trying to blame the Dems when the Repugs would not let them in on meetings and did not want to here their input.

The country would not be in the trouble it is in if these hateful, stupid, evil, racist, thieves, liars and chicken hawk pundits weren't trying to run the war. I am watching as some pretend to know more than Generals and are down right angry because they want to use nuclear weapons. I fear that they are taking us to the point of no return... They are steadily coming on every show and you can tell that they are setting all of their pins in a row for January, when we will then begin to hear that we need the draft, and they are setting it up so that the Dems will be the ones to say it... By the way Newt GRINCHWICH IS A PIECE OF SHIT!

1. They are all bad. That's why I don't vote for Republicans.
Weicker aside, they are all scumbags.

10. This is why Frank Gaffeney,,,,
Blankley, and Newt Grinchwich are trying their best to cloud the issues. Newt is trying to reinvent himself by admitting that he was divorced twice(leaving out the particulars) and he is hitting on all of the hatemongers talking points, welfare taxes. He is trying to act as though he wants to solve problems in a bipartisan way. I heard him discussing how he will bring up debates with both sides and while naming Hillary and Obama as the candidates, they are trying to pick who our front runners will be because it will fit their plans perfectly they think,. ( Not saying that I would not vote for either) on the other hand Frank Gaffeney is angry because of the ISG ,is suppose to have been a bipartisan committee. Plus the chicken hawk want to stir the pot and make the situation worse...

3. I know Specter would be keeping his mouth shut
and I imagine gloating Freepers would be getting tombstoned here at least hourly.

I also think there would be an article buried in the newspapers about how the passport office is doing such a brisk business, "wonder why?"

As for the generals, they're just putting forth the Goldwater choice: get out now or go nuclear. Otherwise it's just a process of watching what's left of our military get cut to ribbons in somebody else's civil war.

I sincerely doubt there will be much consensus for going nuclear. It would be like trying to swat mosquitoes across several states with one Buick. It would cause a lot of damage to things we don't want to hit and not enough damage to things we might want to hit.

4. What would we nuke?
All of Bagdad? When insurgents are mixed street to street with non-combatants there is no target. We have only the choice to save our selves or become a monster that the rest of the world must destroy.

9. Exactly. The "nuke 'em all, let god sort 'em out"
crowd hasn't thought it through far enough to identify targets. They probably foresee making an example of some area they consider disposable, like Fallujah or Tikrit, thinking the population would then meekly fall in line behind whatever puppet Stupid's team offers them.

They don't understand that such an act done by a nation that's already a world pariah might initiate a world war to stop more atrocity.

We haven't a chance of winning such a war.

11. Plus the fact ...
that the world can see the hearing and the media in our country and they know that we don't have enough troops...Bushco thinks that they can nuclearize any enemy and some have common interest with others that america calls our allies... This thing is so tangled up and we have the most nuttiest people who are running this country, they will do anything just so they can say: VICTORY,WE WON,AND bush is some great leader, NOT!

5. We would be hearing about plans for a vast new escalation of the war.
Oh wait, we are hearing plans for a vast new escalation of the war.

I conclude therefore that the rightwing won the election.
