Which is why I bought a 1978 28 foot sailboat to live in.
Yes. I miss running water and a shower. But, if I don't mind getting dressed and hiking a hundred feet or so each morning, I have that too.
LESS IS MORE!

and around where I live building codes would not allow one to be parked on property and lived in.
Houses have to be at least certain sq. ft

...Isn't that pretty much exactly the sort of warm and fuzzy fluff that distracts from the real issues?

10. I've been thinking about this... |
|
I didn't know someone had tried it! There is a company which makes solar panels for electronic devices, and I could get a laptop and a Ricochet card, and run them off the solar panels. I'd need a battery of some sort to run at night.
I don't know if I like her house though, it was a little smaller than I would personally choose.
I'd probably do it in a modern style. I'd also look into better insulate walls, her's did not seem insulated or were not insulated well. More insulation means a warmer house.
----------------------------
I've also been thinking about the implications for homeless people, if they could be made similar living quarters, it wouldn't cost much to provide housing.

this tiny house one of the Tumbleweed houses by Jay Shafer? I love his little houses. You can see them at www.tumbleweedhouses.com He will even rework the blue prints to use material that make them cheap enough for low-income people. I wish I had one.
