2. Can't. Too much alcoholism in my family.
I'm the only non-alcoholic in my mom's family going back a few generations, and that's because I never started and don't plan to. I don't want to take that risk.

8. Not really.
I'll drink the occasional toast to/with someone, but for the most part it all tastes horrid and makes me sick well before I even start to get drunk, so, not much of a point.

9. Wine with dinner about once a week until I get back to cooking. I enjoy
Edited on Sun Dec-17-06 06:53 PM by davidwparker
French cuisine and wine is part of their culture. When I'm able to cook everyday again, I will have 1 glass everyday. There are some benefits from wine. Moderation is the key.

11. Nope, got over teh alcohol in college -
even in small amounts, it makes me feel like poo. Last time I had a drink was at my husband's brother's wedding in July and it was gross.

Sometimes I'll do the whole college partying thing. That can range from once or twice a week on some streaks to once every few months. It depends.

14. No - haven't drank any alcohol in 32 years. I didn't even drink
much back then - never really liked the taste. Which is a good thing, since I'm the child of two drinkers. My sisters don't drink either.

15. Every once in awhile.
Maybe 4 or 5 times a year. Wine very rarely, dark microbrew beer most often, margarita, eggnog, or Bailey's for special occasions.

I don't smoke, but did when I was in high school 30 years ago.

I do eat things that are not good for me, along with healthy stuff. I do the weight pendulum thing that is not good for me, because I have a really hard time permanently giving up things that negatively affect blood sugar.

I sometimes judge people, even though I think I shouldn't. I think a critical nature can be a vice, when it leads one to look for reasons to feel superior to others.

Any other vices on your mind? :)

I'm smoking cigarettes too. Not in the house though. Out in the heated garage or my wife will kick my ass.

25. I would not have survived this long without mind-altering substances.
The best thing that ever happened to me was the first time I smoked pot. The next best thing was the first time I dropped acid. After that came yoga and meditation -- which I would never have gotten into except for drugs.

And much as it pains me to say it, I have dosed myself with quite a bit of alcohol over these past 6 years. I'm an old lady, I figure I'm entitled to tipple.

28. I gave it up..
Every year it seems that my alcohol allergy gets worse. All it takes is one drink and my entire face turns crimson.

So I decided to give it up entirely. At least it saves me from consuming a lot of empty calories.

Not to mention that I can get a much better buzz from running. :)

33. Yes
Usually on weekends when I go out with friends.

But I understand when people say it brings out the worst in people. It certainly did on a few occassions with myself.

Excessive alcohol when you are depressed never helps.

but I'll usually drink a beer or two in situations where it would be openly rude to refuse- maybe a couple times a year.

About once every six months, I kind of want a beer. Sometimes I get one. Sometimes I don't. No big deal.
