I am SICK of people like this! |
|
I found this gem on a debate site...
Yes this is about US and THEM. YES, this man is what is wrong with the country, ney the world. There is no talking to folks of their stripe.
I am sick of people like this, I really, really mean it. I don't give damn that he'a fucking veteran. I AM SICK OF HIM AND EVERY PERSON LIKE HIM.
I AM TIRED OF PEOPLE LIKE THIS MISSING THE DAMNED POINT.
Is that what this is to you? Talking points?
We won that war. We WON IT. The enemy army doesn't even EXIST anymore. The leader of the enemy army is captured.
Where's the ticker tape parade? Where's the flag-waving? Where's the glorious welcome for our returning victorious warriors?
Something great died in Vietnam. Even the crazy FDR ultra-lib commie freaks who called Stalin "Uncle Joe" didn't hate America enough to deny our military a hero's welcome home and writings and songs of praise.
Where's the praise for our military? Where the heck is it? Is it because it's the "Bush Military" that it's practically forbidden in the liberal drive-by media to say a single nice thing about them?
I was in Malaga, Spain, active duty United States Navy and went to the USO club down there. I almost felt embarassed getting so pampered with free snacks and drinks and entertainment even though I'd just come back from the Persian Gulf on a six-month cruise through it, but I was welcomed and thanked. I love the USO and what it does, it meant a lot to me back then and it still does today.
Which is why it SERIOUSLY ticks me off today to see our accomplishments anywhere but on the FRONT PAGE TOP DEAD CENTER of every newspaper all the time. Our troops aren't being supported, they're getting BURIED! It's SO bad that only the BURIED troops get any recognition in the media, and they're all like "BUSH is why he died! It's BUSH! BUSH!! BUSH!!!"
We could have Superman himself dress up in fatigues, beat the crap out of our enemies in Iraq and he'd be up for trial on charges of profiling Muslims. War Crime Trial for Superman!
Liberals have really gone off the deep end with their failure to say one nice thing about our modern heroes.

2. Bush used Clinton's army to destroy an already wrecked force |
|
Edited on Sun Dec-17-06 09:27 PM by Little Wing
Guys were holding positions wearing sandals and tshirts.
Then BUSH took the army that works best when it's constantly moving, and parked it.
Await further orders. Oh, and stop dying.

9. THEY don't believe they are heroes. That is the big difference. |
|
We believe they are. We believe that those who must suffer combat, or even deployment, are worthy of our respect. The true heroes do not feel that they, themselves, did anything that any other troop wouldn't do as well.
That said, the OP makes me sad that there are still those assholes out there. Fortunately, they are NOT the majority. Our returning 172nd Stryker Brigade, many of whom I encounter daily, are as anti-Iraq as I am. Not all, of course - but a significant number anyway.
Mr. Deserter "Codpiece" Shrub will get his, even if only after he is gone from this earth. I know 27 dead Stryker Brigade heroes who will make sure of that.

6. I wonder if he thinks the corpses being brought in in the dead of |

night as cargo on passenger planes would appreciate a 'glorious welcome for our returning victorious warriors'?
As far as I've seen, that or in pieces is the only way they're coming home. They sure as hell ain't coming home because their job is done.

Oh please.
Can someone please be upfront and tell me exactly WHY THE HELL WE ARE IN IRAQ? I seriously don't know anymore. First it was for the imaginary weapons, then it was for "freedom" while our freedoms at home are being curtailed in the name of "national security" ("Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither"-Benjamin Franklin anyone? Irony much?) Now I'm totally clueless on the latest RNC approved reason for why we're in Iraq. Explain?
