What the individuals who initiated this war want to have happen is simply beyond expectation. Freedom and Democracy are just campaign slogans if the people are are trying to free have their own ideas that are different than yours. Those insurgents you keep trying to kill are the citizens of the nation you invaded. They are not some inhuman thing that is ok to kill. They are the people you attempted to kill into freedom and democracy. And they do not appreciate it.

Bush's soon-to-be-announced "Surge" plan is a Hail Mary play.

One of the problems with this win/lose shit is that is works well with the sheeple. Sports being a big part of American life, win/lose is only natural.
