"Surge" in Iraq = "Escalation in Vietnam
It seems like we're in Vietnam, in the stage where we kept sending in more troops, "to end it once and for all."

2. They are NOT the same...
"Escalation" is a bad word and "Surge" sounds like a football comeback...

4. Result is the same -- it's like quicksand
The more we surge, the more the opposition surges in response....It becomes a spiral

5. Well, yeah...but you must admit "Surge" is a more innocuous word...
After all, it is all about words, right?

If a tree fell in the forest, and the Media was covering lost hikers...

6. I guess it is about words.....After all it was Operation Enduring Freedom
And the Iraqis are now havingnto endure the version of "freedom" we brought them

3. I remember very well
when I was in high school and the Viet Nam debacle was raging on and nearly every night at the dinner table after the news, my Mother would say, "More men and more money. More men and more money..."

Looks like the same for Bush's illegal war as well.
