All this horrid stuff scares the h$$l out of me |

I can't help but to try and put myself in the place of the troops and the Iraqis thinking about how they must feel and what they must be thinking each and every minute of every single day .
I can't stop thinking what the people in the gulf coast of the USA must be going through .
I think about this and then there pours in the vision of what I see going on around me in america during everyday life .
I look at what has happened to the jobs and the people who seem content driving a new shiny SUV or new car with the latest cell phone and wonder just how many are aware of what's going on or if many too are living on the edge of loosing their home living on plastic and morgages .
Just from viewing this I would have to say most are unaware or just going on ignoring the mass horror many face daily .
I listen to liberal talk radio and hear commercials of things I could never hope to afford and many of these things I have no idea of what they even are , yet I do realize commercials are necessary to keep things running . Seems so insane in an odd way to me .
Perhaps I think about this because I am living on barrowed time in the sense money here is rare and a constant worry , I was however very aware of the horrors when things were not quite so overwhelming for me and my wife .
I can't tune out or find an escape from thinking about all of this and I do realize this is not a good thing mentally to feel this constant pressure and fear .
In my 57 years I have never seen things so very bad or this country so torn apart in desperation and divided by views .
I try desperately to find hope and a realistic solution to all the problems many face . I know you can't go back to the past but what sort of future will we have and how many will drop off to the wayside before things begin to turn in their favor .

Like many folks around my neck of the woods, I am engaging in more and more consistant spiritual practices, mainly focusing awareness on the breath. Even if you aren't spiritual, focusing on the breath, making sure it is even and regular, can help you feel better.

we are seeing the fall of another empire..I also I have been lucky to have lived in such a wonderful country and at seeing a growing America... and I also think had the elections had been a fair election and Gore was president, we would still be a growing country and not one in decline..

I too am glad I lived during the times I have in america . There were trying times but I could always find a way to look forward and find hope things would improve and continue to improve .
Reagan came along and ruined many ideals . We had just got out of the vietnam war and he had to come along .
However there was still hope because society had for the most part been of a decent mindset and the age of high technology had not come along yet to push into a whole new world which I feel was what began the age of the separation and isolation of society .
Even though we have the internet which is a good thing it is also a double edged sword as many well know . I have not quite figured out if it is the product or avenue of more good than bad . I do feel as far as information and easy connections between people through out the globe is the good part of it all .
I will try to breath and focus on some sort of hopeful reality as I try to find my way through this mess .
