Song idea, please help: "The Twelve Years of Republicans." |
|
In the first year Republicans in Congress gave to me...
What prominent Republican bullshit can we think of for each of the twelve years of Republican rule?
The only one I know for certain is 1998:
"In the fifth year Republicans in Congress gave to me... ONE IMPEACHMENT!" and so on.

7. I guess we'd file that under 2003. |
|
In the ninth year Republicans in Congress gave to me three thousand dead soldiers.
For the MIHOP crowd, we might be able to have
In the seventh year Republicans in Congress gave to me Nine eleven.

(1997) In the third year Republicans in Congress gave to me Tax cuts for the rich A ban on gay marriage and Monopolies in radio and TV.
(1998) In the fourth year Republicans in Congress gave to me Perpetual copyrights Tax cuts for the rich A ban on gay marriage and Monopolies in radio and TV.

(2000) In the sixth year Republicans in Congress gave to me A stolen election One impeachment Perpetual copyrights Tax cuts for the rich A ban on gay marriage and Monopolies in radio and TV.
(2001) In the seventh year Republicans in Congress gave to me Nine Eleven A stolen election One impeachment Perpetual copyrights Tax cuts for the rich A ban on gay marriage and Monopolies in radio and TV.
(2002) In the eighth year Republicans in Congress gave to me Curtailed civil liberties Nine Eleven A stolen election One impeachment Perpetual copyrights Tax cuts for the rich A ban on gay marriage and Monopolies in radio and TV.
(2003) In the ninth year Republicans in Congress gave to me Three thousand dead soldiers Curtailed civil liberties Nine Eleven A stolen election One impeachment Perpetual copyrights Tax cuts for the rich A ban on gay marriage and Monopolies in radio and TV.
(2004) In the tenth year Republicans in Congress gave to me Abortion restrictions Three thousand dead soldiers Curtailed civil liberties Nine Eleven A stolen election One impeachment Perpetual copyrights Tax cuts for the rich A ban on gay marriage and Monopolies in radio and TV.

And then, the voters got smart.
(2006) In the twelfth year the voters Were finally sick of... (it was really hard to find anything even approaching notable for most years. Talk about a bunch of do nothings, they wasted over a decade!)
