Didn't this start out 10 to 20 thousand?

Seems like it goes up every day, like the current gasoline prices.

Don't these people have even a rudimentary spine? Anyone with an IQ larger than their shoe size knows this is a ploy for * play for time and dump the whole Iraq mess on whoever follows him into the WH. And yet they don't have an opinion on it. My blood pressure won't permit me to watch network news.

5. well that makes perfect sense in the upside down Murka.
elections show that people want less war so what's to be done...

make it even bigger! ramp it up! but only for a short time, understand. believe us, come on, you know we wouldn't lie about something as serious as war.

bwahhahahahahahaha!
unfrickenbelievable.

who is screaming No No NO to this? somebody ought to be screaming blue in the face - names, come on, give me some names.

Dennis Kicinich doesn't believe this bullshit. he can't be the only one who never believed in this huge lie to begin with and doesn't want to support it any further.

7. That is cause for concern.
I had assumed the calls for 10-15,000 were only to test to see what the response would be. The "surge" that is being considered (indeed, planned and set in motion) will require the 35,000 +/- that NBC mentioned. One might question if the will of the American public is being given any consideration.

When was the will of the American People ever considered in the last 6 years? Why break a trend and start now. No big surprise, really. May Bush and his minions rot in the hell they so believe in so much !!!!

11. I think of Cheney's words. Neither I nor the President are running for anything.(paraphrasing)
I truly don't believe they care much about the American public. In fact, they probably feel the public is not 'with' them and therefore 'against' them...and that makes us the enemy.

Or Hillary "I don't want more troops there except that I do" Clinton?

I told people that a mere Dem majority wasn't enough. But nooooooooo, I was being cynical.

Bullshit. I was right on this, just like I've been right about this illegal war the whole damn time, and people STILL won't listen!

I don't think either party realizes that the people are unto the con. Too many on both sides are owned by special interests. The day of reckoning is coming. As Sean Penn said Georgie the people are downstairs.

41. Those poor piccolo players
This is not a good time to have joined the army to play in the army band.

Seriously, where in the f--- are they going to find 35,000 combat-ready soldiers, let alone 35,000 sets of body armor.

OK, I'll admit, they have a plan on the body armor -- deploy without it. But if there were 35,000 soldiers trained and available, then we wouldn't be sending the current batch on their 4th tour in 3 years.

But everything else about this adventure has been the product of fantasy, why stop now?
