EXCLUSIVE: Stephen Heller Says Thanks; Powell Gets Cornered; Utah Gets Screwed
A few items of note from today's BRAD BLOG follow.

As well, this is a reminder that your efforts are needed to ensure there will be a paper BALLOT -- not a "paper trail" or a "paper record" -- for every vote cast in America. Please join the broad coalition of Election Integrity organizations (and ask everyone you know to do so as well) by sending a letter to Congress via http://www.VelvetRevolution.us/Campaigns/PaperBallots.

Nothing is more key to ensuring Congress makes at least one correct move this time around in their upcoming Election Reform legislation! -- Brad

The Diebold Whistleblower Looks Back with Gratitude and Forward with Hope...

Special to The BRAD BLOG by Guest Blogger Stephen Heller

Colin Powell Cornered on Video Tape Concerning Phony United Nations WMD Presentation
Finally, Someone in the 'Media' Demands Some Accountability...But it Wasn't CBS...

No, we're not referring to his much ballyhooed --- and also very overdue --- admissions on Face the Nation that "we are losing" in Iraq, and that he's "not persuaded that another surge of troops into Baghdad...will work".

The very tough questions, which obviously irritated Powell, concerned his own complicity in getting us into this mess in the first place. But the questions weren't asked by CBS' Bob Schieffer during his own televised "exclusive". Nor were they asked by a determined reporter from the NY Times or Washington Post or Newsweek or any of the networks.

'Daily Voting News' For December 17, 2006

Many in the Election Integrity community have been telling anyone who would listen that the new voting technology is expensive. Utah didn't listen but now they are learning. The cost of this year's election on Diebold DREs is twice what it was in previous elections using punch-cards. AND the taxpayer gets to continue paying millions of dollars to Diebold for the privilege of using their machines. The costs are so high that many Utah jurisdictions will revert to hand-counted paper ballots in local elections....
