(Also at www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeKsXxu69mk) Viewing the video takes all of 8 minutes and is very moving, pointed, and strategic. It argues that we actually CAN cut off the funding for the War/Invasion of Iraq, now running at eleven million ($11,000,000.00) dollars per hour, and thereby effectively end the invasion by backing Congressman McGovern's bill HR4232 to cut off funding for the war.

There are 4 major ways to back the McGovern bill and end the war. Please - no more cynicism. If we don't ACT nothing will change.


One - sign the Petition in Support of HR4232 by going to http://pdamerica.org/petition/mcgovern-petition.php Remember, the voters have spoken, numbers matter, and Congress will and does listen to a ground swell of public opinion. Sign the Petition.


Two - voice your opposition to the war in a manner that matters. Go to http://capwiz.com/pdamerica/callalert/index.tt?alertid=8511056&type=CO find your Congressional representative, and give them a call requesting that they support HR4232 and that you will be watching what they do. One phone call. Your reps do listen.


Three - support PDA. We operate a national organization that matters on less than $10,000.00 per month, almost all of it derived from small monthly donors/subscribers. Go to https://www.pdamerica.org/donate.php. Do it now. Become a subscriber. For 10 to 150 dollars a month YOU will actually be making a difference. Give one hour of your pay per month, 1/160th of you monthly income to support PDA. If you don't do it, who will.


Four - forward this email to your friends, family, and co-workers. Tell them that you have acted to end the war in a tangible manner and that you hope they will do the same.

Right now we are trying to build up our membership and our donor bases. Only 4 people are paid staff! The rest of us are volunteers. We get out the action alerts and press releases and research the issues. It is a great organization for Democrats who want the Big Five:

Real Democracy
Environmental Stewardship
Health Care and security for all Americans
Fair trade and a just wage

We are organized from the local Congressional District chapters up to the States in our State Caucuses and then the national organization.

Our advisors include: Reps. Lynn Woolsey, John Conyers, Barbara Lee, Diane Watson, Maxine Waters, and Raul Grivjala. Also "famous activist names" such as Tom Hayden, Cindy Sheehan, Medea Benjamin and our national "face" is the actress Mimi Kennedy (the hippie mom on Dharma and Greg and frequent guest on Bill Mahr) and a whole lot of people who care about our party and country.

We were founded in 2004 after the Democratic Convention in Boston and have been rapidly growing since then, with up to 500 people a week signing up!
