My Toast to Rush Limbaugh letters gets a response
My toast to Rush Limbaugh has generated a response, calling me a hypocritical liberal. A few weeks ago, I had this one published. And, now it has generated the response below. I need some of the more hateful things Rush has said for a response.

My letter>
A Toast To Rush

While this may sound unusual, I feel it is important that, as a Democrat, I thank Rush Limbaugh. I feel he was a key in helping the Democrats regain control of the Senate. While I normally ignore Rush’s hate-filled fibs and falsehoods, his ridicule of poor Michael J. Fox certainly helped swing the Missouri senate race to the Democrats. Polling indicated that it swung a good three points our way after Rush pulled his stunt, and Democrat Claire McCaskill ended up winning by about one point. Rush’s mean-spirited mocking created a lot of sympathetic publicity for Michael J. Fox and his cause and backfired on Limbaugh, partly because of hypocrisy, as Fox had run a similar ad for a Republican candidate that Rush seemingly had no problem with it at that time. So, when I hear Barbara Boxer grilling Alberto Gonzalez, or Bernie Sanders cross-examining Halliburton executives, I will raise a glass to toast Rush.

Here is the response:
Hypocritical Liberals

Every so often someone will submit a letter to Speak Out knocking Rush Limbaugh and I just shake my head at the hypocrisy of liberal-minded people. Most would ban him if they could for the high crime of not thinking the way they do and exercising his right to free speech. While he can get personal in his criticism of others, I have never heard him come even close to hurling the kind of rude, hateful insults that liberals routinely toss at George Bush. And these are politicians, people who should be above that kind of thing; not a talk radio host doing what he is paid to do.

22. It's not just Rush from the Clinton years
You can find a ton of outrageous quotes from Republic politicians in the Clinton era, starting with Jesse Helms not too subtly threatening Clinton's life if he came to his state... a little different than Nancy Pelosi calling out Bush by saying the emperor has no clothes.

4. I guess the writer never heard rushbloat call Chelsea Clinton a "dog"
He spews hate all day long. And no, I don't want to ban him, but I would sincerely like for him to be held to the same standards as everyone else, such that his illegal use of perscription drugs would have been harshly dealt with, and that he be either removed from armed forces radio (he can still spew his crap on non-publicly supported stations). or balanced by a left wing radio host.

8. Your letter was excellent! The wingnut's response is laughable, especially this part:
I have never heard him come even close to hurling the kind of rude, hateful insults that liberals routinely toss at George Bush.

The mocking of MJF falls under this category. Accusing a guy of faking a devasting illness for political gain is what most people would call a "rude, hateful insult". Rush's listeners are not the sharpest tools in the shed but, then again, anyone who would voluntarily call themselves a "dittohead" has issues, IMO.

Congratulations on a great letter! :toast:

9. rude, hateful insults...when the only thing that Rush can find to
attack a child is that she is ugly as a dog, when the only way he can try to destroy her self esteem and the respect the country held he in is to call her as ugly as a dog...that is the epitome of rude, hateful insults.

15. That jumped off the page at me, too
Nowhere was "banning" Rush mentioned in the letter; but curious how the conservative mind runs to the idea of banning something when simple disagreement is expressed. What would Freud say about that?

16. He has repeatedly claimed Hillary had Vince Foster murdered.
But I guess accusing people of murder isn't rude or hateful.

Or there is this little gem:

Rush Limbaugh, host of his own syndicated radio show: "I tell people don't kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus - living fossils - so we will never forget what these people stood for."

In 2004, Rush implied that John Kerry had the late Sen. Heinz offed so he could marry Teresa Heinz for her money.

18. George W Bush is a mean, hateful mamma's boy who has
Edited on Tue Dec-19-06 11:48 AM by EST
failed at everything he has set his hand at and, in his total ineptitude and incompetence, has nearly ruined this country and has set the world against us for his idiocy.
Rush Limbaugh is another mean, hateful, insolent man with a distorted imagination who would condemn anyone who doesn't think as he does to the very worst misery he can dream up.

If there is anything in this note that is other than the absolute truth and is only an insult if the reader is a sociologically blind, mental incompetent who should have his or her head examined then I will eat my hat with ranch dressing.

Edit to add: They are both compulsive liars of the first order and I would have them both banned and imprisoned if only I could.

You can fool some of the people all the time-that's *'s 30%-all the people some of the time-an additional 10%-and the remaining 60% are so disorganized and ill informed we can only rarely accomplish a particularly tough job. But when we DO manage to get it together-...!!

23. Interesting how the Puke had to lie right off the bat.
In order to use the word hypocrisy, he had to lie about liberals pushing for a ban on speech.

This guy lies as naturally as Rush.

Is he a drug addict?

And he's a huge (HUGH!!!) liar. This assclown don't understand the apples oranges analogy.
