The silver lining to Cindy's T-Shirt
If she had been allowed to remain in the chamber last night, the cameras would have been instructed to stay off her, not let her and her seditionist message to be seen on air. You can be sure of that (provided she didn't actually heckle the president, which I don't think she would do).

BUT...now that she's been arrested, all the news stories about it, and there are lots, are actually TELLING US WHAT HER SHIRT SAID. The media is getting Cindy's message out to far more people than otherwise would have seen it during a brief swing of the camera last night. The news stories are bringing the body count home, inadvertently, through the Sheehan story.

1. Exactly what I thought, too
No way would a camera have been permitted to pan to Cindy during the speech. Had they not arrested her for a simple t-shirt, no one in the country would've known she'd even worn that shirt. Most of the country would never have even known Cindy had been in attendance last night. Yet, now, the shirt and its message will be famous and Cindy will get plenty of media time to get her points across.

This arrest backfired in a huge way.

2. And more importantly, no one is talking about Bush's SOTU speech.
They're just trying to figure out why Cindy was detained.

3. Precisely!
We should send notes of gratitude to all GOPers:

"Thanks for all of the GREAT PUBLICITY! Now the whole country is getting Cindy's message, via TV news stories, newspaper headlines, et cetera! Honestly, guys, we couldn't have done it WITHOUT YOUR HELP!"

5. Agree. But I am sorry about Cindy. She is collecting a number of
misdemeanors to get the message out and eventually some asshole prosecutor could put her in prison. Don't you think they are not out there.

6. Mike Malloy said that if they had ignored her, no one would
have even known she was there. By doing this she got attention away from the SOTUS and they did it to themselves.

7. Silver lining? The amount of time wasted on this forum on Cindy has
no silver lining... unless it eventually leads DU'ers to realise how easily their attention is diverted from what is important.

Cindy diverted attention from Sibel Edmonds before and now she is diverting attention from an sort of concerted effort to rebute and critique Bush after his "speech" last night.

But go ahead and spend even MORE time talking about Cindy. It's so productive. :sarcasm:
