Poll question: Attention Smokers: Thanks for your participation
Edited on Tue Dec-19-06 03:27 PM by itsmesgd
With all the discussions about smoking all over the General Discussion board and the outrage that they were causing. I was curious about what reponse I would get by posting yet another post, and a poll to boot. I don't care what anyone's favorite brand is, and I don't smoke myself. I would simply ask that everyone take it easy and remember that we are all on the same side on DU.
First and foremost, we are here to discuss democracy, the news of the day, and what we can do as activists.

Thank you for your participation and I hope that there are no hard feelings.

Remember, we hate the Chimp, not each other.

24. Have you tried the R y J Anniversario?
I like to try lots of different cigars. I may be unique here in that I'm female and I like cigars. Been smoking 'em for about 10yrs. It's become a hobby with my husband and me.

26. No I haven't tried them, but I've heard of them ...
my purchases are based on the funds.

I think it's cool that you smoke. When we have Boston meetups, if Mrs. Matcom is there, I give her a cigar and she smokes.

10. Fuck all these smoking threads
I watched my mother die from the effects of her inability to stop

over ten years attached to an oxygen concentrator/oxygen tanks, watching her struggle to take her final breaths, as she drowned in her own pulmonary fluids, and I'm watching my sister begin to exhibit the same emphysematic symptoms

these constant threads are a reminder of this horrible reality, and they make me physically ill

have fun with your outrage at the antismoking sentiments expressed here

thanks

enjoy yourselves

12. And for me . . .
. . .I quit 3 years ago. It's a struggle. Being reminded of it 28 times an hour is horrid.

I am sorry for your mom. too :(

AMERICAN SPIRITS ARE TO CIGARETTES WHAT CRACK IS TO COCAINE.

Got that?

Carry on.

20. Dunhill from England along with cigars from
Cuba when I can get them or from the Dominican Republic when I can't. If that makes me an elitist, limousine liberal, so be it. I will NOT apologize for making a decent living and a pox on those who think making a decent living disqualifies one from being a decent person.

27. What did you think of the Cuban cigars?
I've had a few. Not sure they were any better than other cigars I've tried. Of course, I've heard the quality has gone down since the restrictions went in place in the '60's.

25. Here's my tobacco road:
Started with Marlboro Reds. Went to Camels. Smoked Turkish/Bulgarian cigarettes in Russia with Camel, Marlboro and L&M labels. Smoked Dorals, GPC, and Winstons upon my return. Rolled my own. Now I smoke a pipe once in awhile. A legal pipe, that is. ;)

28. Santa used to put a pack of Dunhill Reds in my stocking.
I'm not smoking tobacco this year but Camel Lights used to be my occasional fallback position.

If you are opposed to smoking, don't smoke.
