What a bunch of anal openings! I have been here since close to inception of DU. I donate and am extremely grateful for this site...my one and ONLY place of sanity...usually.

The egotistical, holier than thou, those that post those that smoke/drink/pass gas "... lose progressive status" BULLSHIT is over the edge.

I came here for comfort, like minded GENTLE folk, and, most of all, ACCEPTANCE! Who the HELL are any of us to judge anyone, anywhere, anytime?

16. Why, thank you. I smoke and drink and cuss and drive a car that has an an ABSURD

number of horsepower...but I donate 20% of my working time every month to doing free work for nonprofit organizations.

So if someone wants to criticize me for any of the former, I challenge them to match me in the latter. That time that I donate is worth about $40,000 per year.

And I should add that there are PLENTY of DUers who are so community-minded that thay make my efforts look positively Republican. People who devote not 20% of their time, but ALL of their time to helping others.

Don't despair. Yes, there are some jackasses around these days, but there are still LOTS of good people here at DU.
