1. Lost. Just lost.
So far over his head. The problem is, he has all of our lives in his hands, as he stumbles around in some parody of on-the-job training.

21. " I met him, fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason, no conscience,......
no understanding; even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six-year-old child, with this blank, pale, emotionless face and, the blackest eyes... the *devil's* eyes! I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply... *evil*!

"... but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you."

I'm reminded of the HAL 9000 in "2001: A Space Odyssey."

Dave Bowman: Hello, HAL do you read me, HAL?
HAL: Affirmative, Dave, I read you.
Dave Bowman: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.
HAL: I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.
Dave Bowman: What's the problem?
HAL: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
Dave Bowman: What are you talking about, HAL?
HAL: This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.
Dave Bowman: I don't know what you're talking about, HAL?
HAL: I know you and Frank were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.
Dave Bowman: Where the hell'd you get that idea, HAL?
HAL: Dave, although you took thorough precautions in the pod against my hearing you, I could see your lips move.

12. Yeah, he's all that, but
... eyes often come out very dark in photos. The phenomenon has more to do with lack of dynamic range in the media (film or digital sensor) than the subject.

So, maybe it's a bit melodramatic to make more of it than that.

32. Trying again.
It's his expression. I know many folks with very dark eyes who do not have the soulless look of Dubya, in photos or in real life. If you're trying to start a color thing with me, you're barking up the wrong tree.

27. Nothing to get excited about, it's a common problem in photos
Look:

Eyes will often come out the way the original photo showed. If you do portraits, you make sure the lights are set up to show the eyes correctly. Under uncontrolled conditions, you often end up having to apply some correction.

Means nothing.

I did three simple operations: 1) applied a tonal levels correction to the eyes, 2) a smaller overal tonal levels correction (the image lacked contrast), and 3) slight sharpening.

You can give the look to the photo, but not to the man. Bush has ugly eyes and an ugly brain. Can you do anything about the latter?
