I'm looking for a quote... |
|
The quote goes something along the lines of: "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a bible." But I do not know the author of this quote, or if I'm stating it correctly.
Sorry in advance if this is posted in the wrong place. Please feel free delete if it is.
Thanks for any help!

8. Sinclair Lewis also wrote the book, "It Can't Happen Here" |
|
From the cover: "A cautionary tale about the fragility of democracy, it is an alarming, eerliy timeless look at how fascism could take hold in America. Written during the Great Depression, when the country was largely oblivous to Hitler's aggression, it juxtaposes sharp political satire with the chillingly realistic rise of a president who becomes a dictator to save the nation from welfare cheats, sex, crime, and a liberal press."
