Real talk: Why has Congress failed to conduct oversight? |
|
DUers, indulge me. Forget for a minute that for the past 6 years, the Congress and the President have been from the same party (except for a brief time in the Senate).
What do you think is the REAL reason that Congress has failed to conduct any oversight of the White House?
One thing Congress is known for is their egos. They don't like to be left out of the loop about anything when it comes to the Executive Branch. That's why (again, aside from the fact that the Congress and President have been from the same party) it's really been shocking to me to watch as Congress just basically let this current Administration have its way, and failed to conduct any oversight.
What do you, DUers, think is the reason behind this?

they passed laws to let them do anything they wanted. NOW since the dems are in power I bet the republicans are sorry they did.
