FEMA's trailer parks and America's Second Harvest

This article about the Renaissance Village Trailer Park was posted earlier today. But maybe it's worth posting again for DUers who are considering a donation to America's Second Harvest.

We're having a tough time this Christmas because my husband had to take a long leave of absence from work to have back surgery. We can ill afford the time off or the huge medical bills we'll be paying due to our measly health insurance. But we'll make out just fine, and I'm mindful that no matter how straitened our current circumstances are, our lives are fabulous, compared to folks such as those who live in FEMA trailer parks. I hope you'll read the article, if you haven't already.

In another post, someone pointed out that, if each DUer gave only $5 to Second Harvest, we could raise nearly a half a million dollars. I know that not everyone can afford to let go of $5, right now, but I also know that those who can, will. That's just how DUers are. :)

I missed this earlier. Will send a donation in the am. This is important so thanks for keeping it out in front for all to see. Good luck to you and your husband. Mine had surgery in May and the stuff insurance didn't cover made for a painful summer, but we are very lucky to have the insurance we do have. I feel for those who have nothing.
