The doubletalking bullshit machine has been in high gear all week. A coordinated bullshit campaign started last weekend, with all of the War Party frontmen dutifully donning their Surge Suits and marching out on talking point to deliver the word, and the word was Surge.
Of course what they were really talking about was escalating the war in Iraq in one last ignoble effort to kill enough Iraqis fast enough to convince the survivors to submit, Cartman style, to our authority. An interesting approach to dealing with the November mandate to get the heck out of Iraq. In some bizarre, twisted, criminal mental process, getting us more into Iraq was the way to get us out of Iraq. Or more precisely, what we saw from the War Party was what we in the tech world refer to as "see figure 1."

But wait, there's more to this story!
Prezinut Dumbass (or is it Fucktard, I can't decide anymore, perhaps we need a DU poll?) Held a short notice prezinut newzer this morning. Short notice because as the screechy Lynn Samuels noted on her siruius show, 'that way nobody has a chance to prepare tough questions'. So Dumbass says we are in a long war and we needs more troops. It seems that the terrsts and furry fighters and surgeons are not gonna run us out of dodge or the middle east.
In a new low of rhetorical idiocy the prezinut offered up a new defense for continued carnage:
"“We cannot ... give up on the hundreds of millions of ordinary moms and dads across the Middle East who want the hope and opportunity for their children that the terrorists and extremists seek to deny them, and that's a peaceful existence,” he said."
http://usinfo.state.gov/xarchives/display.html?p=washfi... This is a new twist, we are now conflating the family values thing with the warnterra thing. It seems that hundreds of millions of muslim moms and dads, who by every poll I've ever seen hate and loathe our government and everything it does, are in fact looking at our troops in Iraq, shown every day on al jazeera committing new atrocities against people who look a lot like they do while our troops look like something out of a star wars movie, and seeing them as their last great hope. Who Knew?
Who knows what planet the prezinut inhabits as it certainly is not planet earth.
But I digress. I haven't gotten to my point. We were sold 'surge', an escalation that is not an escalation as it is only a temporary escalation. But this was a classic bait and switch. Last week's surge has become this weeks proposal for a permanent increase in combat troop strength for deployment in a mythical long war against Evil. Of course the battlefield of this heroic struggle just happens to be Iraq.
Oh about that election last November: see figure 1.
