and probably w/o even reading the book (it goes the other way too. I don't like it when people post childish reviews about a childish book, i.e. Ann Coulter). This man assumes that because William Pitt is a part of DU, then he is a "moonbat". Stereotype much?

9. Amazon Reviews are generally useless

My favorite was one of the Nuggets Box Set - the one Rhino put out a couple of years ago.

"it said on the box that it was original punk rock...this is not punk it sounds like stuff my dad like. i know alot about punk and it wasn't in the 60's... it happened a few years ago when green day came out don't be fooled if you want to here real good punk, by the new blink 182 take off your pants and jacket cd or the mark tom and travis show cd by blink it really good and much better than this..."

It's hard to count how many things are wrong with that review.

23. Well, in most cases I'd agree. But it is a "Review"

which means it's actually been READ. Opinions on the book based on the reading of it should remain. Opinions solely about the author have nothing to do with the book.

I'd also say scrub any that are along the lines of "Will is my boyfriend and I love him very much! Therefore, I recommend this book!"

I actually hope they keep the Freep reviews. Pretty much the best advertisement for the book. The Freep reviews for the Iraq book were the highest of comedy, especially after a couple of years passed and the WMD never materialized. They wound up getting deleted, sadly.

THANK YOU, Mr. Pitt, for doing the original publication in paperback!!! It's not just the amount of money I've spent on hardback books in the last six years (many for our county library, so hardback's OK there), it's that I *hate* reading hardbacks. I've actually injured my hand holding them when I was reading a book I "couldn't put down."

I am surprised that William Rivers Pitt sobered up long enough to write a book.Perhaps he was able to stay booze free for 24 business hours and managed to get his book written in that time.

But I found this: "Being a voracious reader this is boring piece lacking in facts and sustenance." As vapid as it may be, I have absolutely NO intention of "banning" it. I agree with a few others here, in that Freedom of Speech is the most important thing. This isn't like a poll being "freeped", and where programming tricks are used to register multiple votes with a few key-strokes. There are individual opinions, as distasteful as they may be.
