This guy has been consistently excellent, and kicked it into a whole new gear during the run-up to the midterms.

If you've enjoyed him before, here it is again. If you have missed Froomkin's work, please do yourself a wonderful favor and dive in. His is the one can't-miss Post article, besides anything by Walter Pincus.

Enjoy.

6. What a shitty year.

I sure the f*ck hope that the Dems find their collective spines and some the of the repugnants find their consciouses.

I can't believe I have endured Nixon with his Watergate, Reagan with his lack of memory on Iran/Contra, George I who I now refer to as Putin I, and now this most disgusting, insane, madman of all. How did we let this one stupid asshole and his cabal of neocons bankrupt our nation? Financially and morally. How?

It's like a nightmare, but I can't wake up. I want to believe that 2007 will bring us an enlightened American citizenry who DEMANDS its Democracy and Constitution be returned to We, the People.

8. damn! it's too late to K&R but thanks. i especially like this...
"Asked by a German tabloid to name the most wonderful moment of his presidency, Bush on Friday said it came while he was on vacation, fishing on his private lake. . . .

Maybe it was just a little innocent clowning. But maybe it emerged from his own candid awareness that historians looking back at his presidency may see an obvious low point (or two or three), but no equally obvious high points.

Or maybe, at heart, he'd rather be fishing."

or some other type of sport or simply fiddling around, with his guitar.

Definitely worth a read... or two... or three.

Thanks Will, for pointing to Froomkin's White House Year in Review at:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/linkset/2005/04/11/LI2005041100879.html

excerpt:
"Somehow, Bush had managed up until this year to lull voters -- and seduce journalists -- into complicity with a worldview that was simply not based in reality."
