and sadistic IMO to say something like that. Sometimes people see cruel comments. Did it really do you that much good? You're better than that.

Good on Edwards, lovely family....I'll be just as happy to vote for him as I will for Gore, Clark or Kucinich. Aside from that, I'm not really that interested in what he's doing for Christmas.

24. I don't think John is using Grecian formula - I think he is one of those |
|
men who will forever look 20 years younger than his wife. They are out there and John is one of them.
Of course, Presidential candidates are supposed to look young, then in office they are photographed to look old and wise. When the next campaign comes around they have to look youthful and energetic again.
We aren't shallow at all. Not at all.

|
I don't know if it was a wig (she was enduring chemo; maybe her hair fell out?) or if she didn't want to bother dying it.

funky things. With all the chemicals floating around in your body, the dye doesn't always do what it's supposed to.

I think the Edwards family are a beautiful family. And I get the feeling Kate is so much more responsible and classier than the Bush twins! The Edwards family in the WH would do the U.S. proud!

17. I wish I lived in a world where cards like this weren't sent. |
|
I wish that people decided which politician to vote for on the basis of what policies they supported, not whether or not they had a happy personal life, and I wish that people didn't associate sending out a card with a photograph of the family looking photogenic and some nauseatingly trite sentiments on it with having a happy personal life.
Anyone who believes that John Edwards has done this for any reason other than winning votes is deeply naive, I think. I don't think any less of him as a result of it, because it *will* win him votes and there's nothing wrong with him trying to do so, but I wish that it wouldn't.
Mass-produced sentiment scares the hell out of me, especially when not participating in it is stigmatised.

26. I agree and still I think the sentiment expressed has some depth to it... |
|
A subtle mention of the troops (who have left home) and a mention of the homeless and how we need to provide security to all citizens.
So, for what it is, I think it is well done. I do also appreciate the fact that although they must have taken dozens of perfect shots where everyone was sitting up very nicely looking directly into the camera -- they chose one in which Jack is looking a little gooney and Emma Claire is looking a little weirded out by her little brother and Elizabeth is looking at the two of them with some amusement - with just a hint of maternal sternness on the way if they don't straighten up a bit.
