MO's Old Order Amish have the tv news people over the proverbial barrel!
Two 12 year old Amish boys decided to hike to the Mississippi River from Bowling Green and back (20 miles!) because they were enthralled by "Tom Sawyer" and "Huckleberry Finn". They got lost and there's been a full scale search for them which just ended with them being found safe and sound. Pity the poor tv people, no tearfull interviews with the parents, no shoving cameras into the faces of the relatives, just a statement from the sheriff.

1. Glad the kids are safe
and that this isn't another media frenzy.

2. See what you've done Mark Twain?!
I wonder how many other boys/girls have done this through the years. I well remember being on a raft and pretending to be Huck. I just got those books for my kid to read. Maybe I'd better pull them now.

3. How many kids read
Tom Sawyer today? The book has been banned in many school districts due to its racist comments.
