Unity 08: Is this a good thing?
Unity08 is a group of citizens deeply concerned that the wheels have come off our political system, that the American Dream is slipping away, and that time is short to get things back on track.

We are of all ages, backgrounds, colors and beliefs and from both parties:

Some of us have been involved in political campaigns at the state and national levels and served in high government positions.

Others of our leadership group have never been active in political life but have been highly successful in the private sector, active in the non-profit world and in other walks of American life.

Still others of our leadership group are students, who are concerned that the agenda of special interests is coming before the national interest.

Also, a YouTube clip.

I don't see this happening. Personally I couldn't stomach pulling the level for McCain or Rudy, even if the other candidate is a Kucinich or Clark.

2. No, it isn't a good thing.
If you check out the about section..you might some mostly righty Democrats in with righty Republicans. They appear to be using it to push the let's not be partisan crap.

Go to the Buzzworthy, and there is a game. Any group that has Howard Dean riding in a car with Abramoff and Cheney in other little cars....and the scream....well that site is telling me something.

I think it is an excuse for a type of ticket like Lieberman/McCain or vice versa.

Lanny Davis writes there frequently...check out the founders and op ed folks.

3. Unity= Republican
Because you notice that it is never the REPUBLICAN who must be "bipartisan". It is the Democrat who has to sell out the values of our party in order to "work together". It is not the Democrats who have mad the system so ugly. It was the Republican takeover in 1994 that set the stage. They changed the rules and eliminated the minority party participation, in things like conference committees. They weren't even allowed to propose legislation. So the hell with the Unity bullshit.
