20. there's a big difference between a misdemeanor and a felony
demonstrating used to be a misdemeanor and now will become a felony; no voting, no gun owning...big difference

3. But what happens
when we get a Democratic President and a Democratic Senate? Will those Republican Groups who protest that Democratic President be arrested for dissent and charged with a crime, too? You think those asshat repugs would think of that, unless they've got the fix in for the next generation's worth of "elections".

6. I heard on Air America that there has been something inserted
in the Patriot Act that give the Secret Service more powers to arrest any Americans without a warrant. They also said that shrub has plans then to increase the amount of the Secret Service (SS?) with more agents. I am afraid to protest any more. But I still will do it. LOL.

9. But they wouldn't go so far as to detain us, would they?

Halliburton unit's detention center contract is repeat deal 30 Jan 2006 When the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was picking someone to plan and perhaps build detention centers, it turned to a familiar name. The Corps last week awarded a contract worth up to $385 million to KBR, a subsidiary of engineering and defense contractor Halliburton Co. KBR has been paid $5.9 million so far under a similar contract from 2000 through 2005. Halliburton said KBR might also be used to open more detention centers if they were needed for new government programs.

Deal struck to build detention centers 30 Jan 2006 A Houston-based construction firm with ties to the White House has been awarded an open-ended contract to build 'immigration' detention centers that could total $385 million - a move that some critics called questionable. The contract calls for KBR, a subsidiary of the oil engineering and construction giant Halliburton, to build 'temporary' detention facilities... Under the contract awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, KBR could also be assigned to operate one or more temporary detention facility, and develop a plan for responding to a natural disaster in which U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel participate in 'relief' efforts.

13. Remember when Rummy was "touring" Europe a few months back?
Edited on Wed Feb-01-06 02:21 PM by fooj
Remember all of those "supposed" American military that they had in NO? They were professional soldiers from other countries that these dickheads have been recruiting. These assholes KNOW that an AMERICAN SOLDIER would never hurt another AMERICAN. Think about it.

Peace.

10. You should be using the past tense, not the future.
Increasingly over the last few years, dissent has been criminalized "for the sake of national security."

15. All the pieces are in,
Sometimes, and I am sorry to say this, it seems to me that there is a horrible great plan behind Bushco, that will take power in a coup, and the US will become an official dictatorship, where dissenters will be jailed.
The evidence:
1 - A long time ago, Smirky was shown an example of crowd control with newly equipped riot troops. The simulation clearly represented a domestic uprising.
2 - Halliburton is setting up new detention facilities all over the US
3 - They are getting more brazen about breaking the law
4 - Domestic surveillance
5 - Renewal of patriot act
6 - Systematic breakdown of the US economy, widening of gap between rich and poor and destruction of working middle class.
etc. See "14 characteristics of Fascism"

I have 2 hopes:
1 - The Military will rebel against Smirk & Co
2 - That I am completely wrong!!!

I keep praying for #2.
