Seagull massacre in Everett, Massachusetts
Seagull massacre in Everett
By adamg on Tue, 12/19/2006 - 9:19am.

Some Everett high-school students learned yesterday what happens when you toss French fries into a busy street when seagulls are around: The seagulls swoop down to eat them, then get run over by a Masshole. Angela posts the grim photo:
http://bostonbrat.net/?p=73

... In total, four seagulls were hit, three of them obliterated by the car. The one surviving seagull wouldn't wait for wildlife services to get there. He ran across the street and was hit by another car. ...

1. four is a massacre?
while i think the act was detestable, four dead seagulls hardly constitutes a massacre...

2. what do you expect when you combine
the holiday frenzy syndrome, MASS drivers, bored teens, dumb birds, and tantalizing crispy-golden-brown fried bits of potato?

3. Bastard seagulls!
I was feeding seagulls by hand with (what a coincidence) french fries at an outdoor restaraunt. I showed my 4-year-old daughter how to do this, and she was thrilled when the bird plucked the french fry out of her hand. Unfortunately, her next french fry was so small that it didn't protrude past her fingers; the seagull bit both fry and finger, and my daughter started howling. The flying parasites took off, I started laughing, and Mommy scolded me for the next 30 minutes ... and starts up again every time she thinks of it.

Bastard seagulls!

4. When I first learned to drive I always screeched to a halt when
I saw a bird in front of me in the road, but it soon became obvious that they always flew away and wouldn't stand there and get hit. I am really surprised to read of this incident...I have never seen a single bird get run over by a car, much less four at a time. Is this a seagull thing?

5. that just reminded me
when I was in high school (in MA), there was a big brouhaha because most of the varsity hockey team went to the park and "sacrificed" some geese by beating them to death with their hockey sticks. They had a big game coming up wanted to do something special.

8. Seagulls are parasites
Who attack people for food. They are not endangered, they are rats with wings. Hunting them should be allowed.

11. Not having read the article, who was at fault?
the people who littered and attracted the gulls or the guy that had to try and avoid a huge mass of the on the road as a result of the littered fries?
