UK Poll: Bush's "Yo Blair!" moment made public smile the most over the past year

"Yo Blair!" Gives us the Biggest Smile of the Year

George Bush and Tony Blair swapping candid views and being captured on a live microphone was today (December 21) revealed as the smile Moment of the Year.

The research commissioned on an annual basis by Internet bank smile, found that George Bush's bread chomping conversation with the Prime Minister being taped made the British public smile the most over the past year.

...

Commenting on the poll, David Newman Director of Marketing, smile said: "It just goes to show that even if the US President can be a victim of a left on microphone, everyone in the public eye should be extra careful when being recorded for sound.

"I think this moment was enjoyed so much because it is not everyday you get to share a conversation between two leaders of world superpowers."

The top five smile moments of 2006 were:

1 George Bush's microphone being left on when talking to Tony Blair

2 Take That reforming after a 10-year absence

3 Darren Clarke downing a pint at the K Club after Europe's Ryder Cup win

4 Graham Poll giving Josip Simunic three yellow cards at the World Cup

5 Pete and Nikki getting together in Big Brother

1. This Brit doesn't find anything funny coming out of Shrub's mouth
Well, until it's picked apart by Jon Stewart ;)

2. Agreed.
Also, on that list, Pete and Nikki getting together on Big Brother doesn't feature on my list of "smile" moments for the year either. Jeebus.

Why can't those people just buy some porn and keep this inanity off the TV. Makes more time for the documentaries Channel4 are good at.

5. Relax....it's just that "charm offensive" Cokie Roberts and NPR told us about back in 2000
Wasn't George W Bush the candidate you'd most want to have a pint with?

4. I suspect the smile came from the superior conservative
brit who knew it all along and now it's confirmed that Americans are loudmouthed, greasy breathed, irresponsible oafs who doubtlessly don't bathe regularly and grow dirt under their fingernails.

If one looks closely at that "yo Blair" character, one may notice his smallest fingernails are kept long to facilitate public digging in the ears.
