8. not funny - even with your sarcasm smiley
It is not funny when adults being put in charge of teaching youngsters goes after them sexually.

Let him explore his sexuality with his peers like the rest of us did. To have a TEACHER do this crap breaks a sacred trust we need to have with our teachers when they are in charge of our kids.

It is NOT funny on any level.

31. Funny? I had many a wet dream over my 7th grade English teacher
All of us horny boys did, she was a total babe. Its rare when it happens, but students doing teachers has been going on since the beginning of time. I would have loved to have been so lucky.

37. Being a horny boy with fantasies is one thing
An ADULT in a position of authority over our kids in school is completely out of line for going after a 12 year old kid and ILLEGAL.

Now if that is a source of amusement for anyone I really must question why it would be amusing for any adult - male or female- who engages in sexual behavior with a child. We're not talking a 17 year old here, but 12 year old.

I am able to separate boyhood fantasies from adult responsibility. If this was a male teacher going after a 12 year old girl - would you feel the same?

This f'ing boys will be boys crap is so juvenile it is pathetic.

6. Merry Christmas to you
My Dear. Big rains down these parts for the next 36 hours. Street flooding in NOLA. We went to the quarter Saturday and saw the most beautiful site - a traffic jam. Big football games in the next three weeks should help out some.

I don't know what to think of the teachers and kids sex thing. I admit I had a crush on some of my teachers but hell we never had sex

16. I was reading the NOLA.com headlines about the rain! It is really wet down there!
Edited on Thu Dec-21-06 03:07 PM by CottonBear
I hope that the storm drains and pumps can take care of all of the storm water. There's not a lot of places for it to drain to when the terrain is so flat and close to sea level.

It is so very dry here. My horse's pasture is dusty It hasn't rained in weeks. It's sprinkling a tiny bit today. We need rain. Please send some our way!

That is great news about the traffic jams in NOLA! I know everyone down there is glad to have the Saints back in the Superdome! My good friend Sarah and I had lunch at the Big Easy Cafe in the little town where I work. The owners are from NOLA! Lunch was delicious! They have a NOLA cuisine special everyday (today's was blackened burgers with Zapps chips), salads, sandwiches, soups, gumbos and specialty foods and coffees from NOLA like pecan pralines and Cafe Du Monde coffee in the orange can. Yum! :)

I went to an all girls prep school from 7th to 12th grades and about 95% of the teachers were women so I had no experience with boys and hot, women teachers.

20. The Big Easy sounds like a wonderful eatery
Zapp's chips are awesome. We drink Community Club Coffee most of the time and splurge on a bag of Starbucks Breakfast blend every now and then. The Mrs has made Cafe Dumonde beignets and they were delicious. I got her a frydaddy for Christmas for just that purpose (along with 14 gift cards.) Cafe Dumonde uses cottonseed oil to make theirs. We couldn't find it anywhere, had to special order it from a health food store. My favorite cheapo lunch in the quarter is blackened shrimp po boy at the Alpine, oh my.

I went to Catholic School through the 6th grade. My experience with female teachers at that time was not very good, but I sure did learn alot (or else.)

This is just to tease you: http://www.cafedumonde.com/main.html

I hope things are looking up for you my Dear.

21. Oh! Thanks for the link!
Mrs. BOSSHOG is one lucky lady! 14 gift cards and a fry daddy are great gifts! she's really going to enjoy shopping at the after-Christmas sales! All she needs now is one of those green and white paper hats that the cooks at Cafe Du Monde wear when making the beignets! (I bought some when I was there last!) It makes for a authentic beignet cooking experience! ;)

Thanks for the info on the cottonseed oil. I can get some at one of the local health food stores or organic food co-ops. I use my great grandmother's electric fry pan to make my beignets. I usually cook them outside since it can be a messy undertaking. Eating them on the patio is fun to do too! (Having the ground covered in spilled confectioners sugar makes for a real beignet eating experience!) I'm going to have to make some this weekend and have the neighbors over for beignets and cafe au lait! :)

I'm full of Big Easy Cafe food but the thought of a blackened shrimp po boy is making me hungry again!

I'm doing fine. Thanks for asking. I'm winding down the work week and will leave for Chattanooga on Sunday. All of my shopping is done. I'll spend Christmas with my mom and sister and then have brunch at a beautiful home on Lookout Mountain with my three best girl friends from high school (we are all from Chattanooga) on the day after Christmas! Chattanooga is a great town! My mom lives on one of the mountains around the city. It is always wonderful to drive home up the winding mountain road.

Y'all take care and enjoy this weekend and Christmas! :hi:
Happy Holidays & Happy Winter Solstice! :toast:

23. I've been chastised
by others about the gift cards. I'm told they are impersonal. But I know what my wife likes. She loves to shop and she gets a kick out of having a purse full of plastic. I get her other stuff too. Got her some Pink Flamingo soaps for her bathroom and a big Pink Flamingo painting and some Margaritaville stuff and I got her Monkey Bookends from Kirklands. She's got quite a Monkey collection. I wrapped them and put a card on it from the Birds and Squirrels whom she feeds throughout the year. Actually nothing she gets is from "me." Its either Santa Claus or Guess who or ToTo or secret admirer. I tell her I'm not getting her anything for Christmas and "I" don't. We are so easily amused.

29. This has nothing to do with the topic, Bosshog,
but I'm glad to hear there are traffic jams in New Orleans now. A sign that things are finally getting back to normal.

My daughter (who lives in Northern California now) used to like to go there for Mardi Gras whenever she could. She has a friend she can stay with when she's there. She's going to be spending Christmas week there with her friend (who was living in Seattle since Hurricane Katrina but is moving back), and it will be the first time she's seen New Orleans since the hurricane. I hope the devastation doesn't shock her too much, but I don't think she was familiar with the hardest-hit areas anyway. I told her I expect a full report when she gets back.

30. Traffic in the quarter
use to drive me insane. But Saturday afternoon I was so happy to see traffic damn near at a standstill on Decatur Street. A wonderful sight indeed. For quite some time now, traffic has been virtually nonexistent. There are still parts of town that still look like the hurricane hit yesterday but every day it gets just an ounce better. Your daughter should have a great time. And every time she spends money she is helping the city, so thankyou, thankyou, thankyou.

34. That term ("tadpoling") was popularized by the 2002 film 'Tadpole'
It refers to "older woman - younger man" relationships, not relationships with adolescent boys.

Is it really that hard to accept that NO TWELVE YEAR OLD CAN GIVE THEIR CONSENT TO ADULT SEX!

I sat on a jury for one of these trials and we were happy to send the asshole to prison.

9. With her logical way of thinking she'd be ideal in Bush's cabinet
Apparently it never once crossed her mind that a) this was illegal, or b) she'd ever get caught.

Sounds like an apt description of most of Bush's aides and cabinet.

puritanical attitudes towards sex if anyone gets upset if a jr.high to high school aged kid and his teacher get their rocks off.

Even if the kid willingly dropped his pants from the word "GO" there's no escaping that the teacher violated a sacramental trust that was given over to him/her by the parents, school board and community at large.

Nobody would care how handsome the teacher was. But for whatever reason, if it's some "hot chick", the frat boy mentality comes out in droves.

35. Good grief! What's with all the photos taken with her and the kids?
Edited on Thu Dec-21-06 05:29 PM by TahitiNut
The posing and posturing seems .... strange - I don't know what word better describes a teacher being so "cuddly" with the kids. Her somewhat diminutive size (5'0") adds to the rather surrealistic tone of those images.

For example, what assumptions can one make that would explain a student with his arm around the teacher like she's his girlfriend?

Or vice versa?

I'm no prude ... and like kids. But I sure think these images would raise some kind of concern even without this news story.
