Watching the late night Scarborough rebroadcast. |

Joe's on fire. He's channelling Olbermann.
Says he voted for Bush twice but now things are so bad in Iraq that the only possible result is to pull out.
Had Ariana Huffington on, along with that Salon gal, and Michael Crowley from the New Republic.
Good talk so far. I hate to admit it, but Joe "Dead Intern" Scarborough seems to have turned the corner and is speaking truth to power, just as it should be.
Am I the only DUer who's becoming a Scarborough fan? (Well, he's not always right, but he seems to be emboldened.)
MS/NBC is doing some very good political coverage. Their lineup with Tweety, Olbermann, and Scarborough is becoming dynamite.
On edit: Then, Pat Buchanan saying, with considerable passion, that invading a country without Congressional declaration of war is an impeachable offense. Scarborough agrees.
This MS/NBC is a good thing.

2. Watch out for Scarbourough.... |

I watched him one night shortly after the election, and he sounded reasonable. Then he did his commentary at the end of the show and launched into a reactionary tirade against the Democrats. The about-face was shocking.
A couple of years ago, when stem-cell research was being discussed, he mentioned that his teenaged son has Type 1 diabetes (so does my teenaged daughter). From then on, I just couldn't wrap my brain around the fact that he could continue to be a mouthpiece for W. and the Rethugs when they were the ones standing in the way of a possible cure for his own son. I just don't get it.... :puke:
On edit: I think Buchanan was always against invading Iraq.

3. I'll be flamed, but I like Joe |

as far as conservatives go. Yes, he's a d!ck, but he admits his mistakes (supporting the war, voting for * twice) were a DISASTER. Plus, I think he has a genuine sense of humor--despite his obsession with the Daily Show.....uh....okay.
Nonetheless, I think his criticism of chimpy *IS* sincere. {{{prepares for flames}}}
Edit: For better grammar (maybe?)!

5. My Joe crush began after the first */Kerry debate when he so deliciously |
|
tore the chimperor a new one for his poor performance. When he's good, he's really really good. When he's bad, I switch the channel. But I've long felt that Joe has a very good, on-air personality, and he has always given the other side (us) a voice on his program.

6. I rarely agree with his views yet he does a good job |
|
of presenting the issues. He is one of the few RWingers that has a good sense of humor. I usually enjoy the program.

7. He's more open to not following party orthodoxy than most Republics |
|
He'll criticize his own party when he feels they're wrong. As a poster above said, after the first debate with Kerry, Scarborough ripped Bush saying something to the effect of, "I don't know how you can call that anything other than an awful performance by Bush."
