Robert Gates Is Another Bush* Politico That The Democrats Gave Benefit Of Doubt.
I hear him talking from Iraq and he sounds like another bush* cheerleader to me.

Hey Dems, how many times will you let bush* fool you?

Do not take a whiff of honesty as honesty, as fresh as it may appear.

I pray the New Congress will not fall for this shit.

2. Perhaps being in the majority will give them a collective pair....
I definitely have high hopes for the likes of Webb and Tester. And like you, I have absolutely had it with this bullshit. How many times do you have to get bitten by a dog to realize it's a bad pet?

3. Gates is a crooked old con man from the glory days of Iran/
Contra. Republicans love those guys. Democrats still apparently haven't caught on as to 'why' yet.

9. Exactly! It was a play for time hoping to fool the public and
cover for Poopy's incompetent criminal spawn. And they think it's still gonna fly.

What I cannot understand, and probably never will, is why anyone thought that Poopy bringing in Baker was gonna change anything. Baker was brought in to ensure that bush** got the White House, by hook or by crook, in 2000.

Poopy doesn't bring in Baker to straighten Chimpy out. He brings him in when Chimpy needs cover.

4. Gates is no change either, he uses the same playbook also
read this article, he says our troops are going to be Iraq for a long time. What Mr. Gates, 50 years just as long we have been in Korea.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/12/21/iraq.troops.ap/index.html

here is a little snip:

"We need to make damned sure that the neighbors understand that we're going to be here for a long time -- here being the Persian Gulf," said Gates.

6. I gave Bush the benefit of a doubt. If he had really done lots of the things he said he would do,
he would not be as terrible as he has been. Of course, I was proved wrong, but I believe in giving everybody a chance.

I'm still out on Gates. I'll have to see him in action some more before I make a decision.

8. I haven't made a decision on Gates either. common sense tells me
that he wouldn't and shouldn't pick an argument with the Prez via TV from Iraq! We don't know what is being said & done behind the scenes. I know if I were Gates, I would be working very hard on finding a face saving was for my boss to gat out of Iraq, and make him think it was all HIS idea!

10. Bush would have NEVER agreed to Gates if he would disagree.
Edited on Fri Dec-22-06 11:18 AM by sparosnare
This whole thing has been a set-up from the beginning, whether people realize it or not. The bipartisan report, Gates as new Def. Sec. - all done to redirect the rhetoric and make it appear there will be policy changes. There won't be. Remember, it's all about the oil and having a permanent foothold in the ME. Bush's press conference reminded us we're in a 'long war' and more troops are needed; Gates went to Iraq and participated in a staged pow wow with troops, where they told him they want more troops there. We're getting played, as usual.
