A simple, powerful and highly recommended diary on DailyKos...

No
by Welshman

There comes a a moment of catharsis in an argument when there is no more to say, when the points have all been explored and the discussion exhausted. There remains only the purity of the positions adopted by the antagonists.

We reached this point in the discussion of Iraq a few weeks ago when the American people spoke. The British people have mirrored the majority of the concerns of yourselves.

Either we here on Daily Kos want an immediate end to our particpation in this war or we are prepared to debate the finer points of our position whilst our troops kill and get killed .

<snip>

What is there for us on DKos to discuss further? Are we to spend the next few months letting words flow as we dissect the White House policy or add to the rants about those who are promulugating this bloody tragedy in our lives? There is no longer any need to exercise any of these faculties on this barbarism.

Let the power of Daily Kos speak simply, clearly and powerfully without our endless diaries on the pollitics of the situation: STOP THIS WAR!

4. $ to bring troops home
Kucinich, who announced his candidacy on Tuesday, has consistently maintained that the $70 billion which Congress appropriated for the war just two months ago should be used to: bring the troops home now, fund a plan for international coalition forces to secure Iraq, and provide for reconciliation of the Iraqi people and reconstruction of their country, without privatization mandates.

5. Do the Democrats follow Kucinich on this?
Does nancy Pelosi find Mr. K's ideas palatable? What could be a simpler
plan for our elected representatives to follow and comply with the wishes of their constituents?Or is the issue to complicated for the average voter to appreciate and therefore needs to trust the leaders to know better?

7. I'll add my yes to the no - Agreed - Get out now
As Ariana Huffington said yesterday "That ship has sunk."

Said it on Scarborough Country - with Scarborough himself encouraging her.

I was amazed to see a program I had deemd as too right wing to watch go so clearly against the Bush-meister

8. Very well said
NO! No more lunacy, no more excuses. No more playing politics. Get them home now. You just moved me to do what I've been meaning to do for days - write Pelosi and my Congress critters. Off to do that now, especially since I have a nephew with orders to go to Iraq very soon.
THANK YOU!
